VAL GARDENA, Italy (Dec. 16) - Scott Macartney (Redmond, WA) tore out of the 38th start Friday to finish seventh, leading five U.S. skiers into the top 25 of a World Cup super G. Bode Miller (Bretton Woods, NH) was eighth while Daron Rahlves (Sugar Bowl, CA) finished 11th in the flat light conditions.

VAL d'ISERE, France (Dec. 11) - World Cup leader Bode Miller (Bretton Woods, NH) finished third Sunday in a controversial "super combined" event to protect his points lead after Swiss Didier Defago, the apparent winner, was disqualified for an equipment violation.

BEAVER CREEK, Colo. (Dec. 4) - As the VISA Birds of Prey race week schedule headed into its final event, the men’s World Cup standings had a red, white and blue tint. Daron Rahlves (Sugar Bowl, CA) and Bode Miller (Bretton Woods, NH) were 1-2 in the overall standings, just three points apart.
